Arsenal star tests positive for Coronavirus

Coronavirus is a disease which is spreading worldwide with more than 100,000 cases reported daily.

Football hasn't been spared by the ongoing pandemic as some footballers including the high profile ones have contracted the virus. Though the virus doesn't kill the patients immediately,it poses many challenges.

As the players were on the international break playing UEFA Nations league, some of the players have contracted the virus. Some like Cristiano Ronaldo, Armstrong and others have contracted it and are forced to quarantine until they recover.

Now, one Arsenal player has been confirmed positive for the Coronavirus. The player is Matteo Guendouzi who was loaned by the Gunners to the German side Herta Berlin. It is reported that he contracted the virus while on international duty captaining the France U-21 side in qualifiers for next year's EURO.

He is the only Arsenal player so far since the virus struck to contract the disease. Meanwhile Kieran Tierney is quarantining though he is negative after it was claimed that they were in close contact with Scotland's Armstrong who tested positive.

Some pundits and former coaches like Arsène Wenger has been critisizing UEFA for planning minor competitions like the UEFA Nations league which puts the players at high risk of contracting the virus as they travel from one country to another. They have called the UEFA to scrap off the competitions given the current situation of covid-19 pandemic.
