Covid-19 Situation in Kenya Worsens With 671 New Infections

Corona virus situation in Kenya seems to be getting worse each day with high cases of new infections being reported by the government.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe on Wednesday announced that 671 more patients had tested positive for COVID-19 from 6,200 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

CS Kagwe, speaking during the daily briefings from the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital, said 633 of the new cases are Kenyans while 38 are foreigners, making up 413 males and 258 females.

In terms of gender, the youngest is 3yrs old infant whereas the oldest is 94 years of age.

The cases were recorded in various counties such as, Nairobi (376) and the rest distributed among other counties.

Out of the new discharges, 436 are from the home based care whereas 167 others are from various hospitals in the country.

On a sad note, the country has lost 3 patients to the virus. The total number of fatalities in the country now stands at 391.
