The Doctor who developed uncomfortable cold was advised by her siblings to go and test for Covid-19 and that is how she went to Agha Khan Hospital where she died 48 hours later.It is reported that the doctor contracted Covid-19 from The Nairobi South Hospital where she worked as Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.
Her death was largely publicised with Kenyans mourning her as a hero. Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe even led Kenyans to observe a minute of silence in her respect during one of his national addresses.
The doctor has left behind two children, a boy and a girl who are twins. In the family eulogy, Doreen's siblings have promised to take care of her 11-year-old children. The family and friends wrote glowing tributes showing that she was loved and cherished by many.
