Museveni: I Cannot Create Jobs For Other People’s Children While My children Are Unemployed

President Yoweri Museveni has reached an agreement with his National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party members that it is unwise for them to create jobs for other people's children while their own children are unemployed, which symbolically means Africa creating jobs for other continents by importing almost everything.

President Museveni has this evening revealed that as NRA members, they have no reason to create jobs for other people's children if their own children are not employed.

He opined that Africa as a continent is creating jobs for the white from other continents while their own children back home are unemployed.

According to Museveni, importing goods including those that can be manufactured locally is criminal, adding that is simply exporting our jobs to the whites.

He made the remarks on Tuesday after he launched a manufacturing industry, Modern Tiles Ltd at Njeru in Buikwe District.

"When you see the money going from Africa to other parts of the world through imports, you worry! We are importing toilet seats, bathtubs, ceramics, carpets, and curtains, this is incredible! It is criminal! We are exporting jobs! This factory alone has brought 1600 jobs directly," he said

According to President Museveni, creating jobs can be realized if people are able to create wealth. He noted that he is insisting on creating wealth through commercializing agriculture, creating industries, through services and through ICT

"We in the NRM believe that there is no reason why we should be creating jobs for other people’s children while our children are unemployed. That is why we insist on wealth creation through Commercial Agriculture, Industries, Services and ICT," he added.
