County governments across the Country have a role to play in empowering youth, with reports indicating that millions of youth who graduate from institutions of higher learning each year end up jobless.

Mr. Victor Okoth Obingi, Director Rural Small Enterpreneurs Community Based Organisation (CBO) says youth need to have their hands held, towards the path of employment or starting businesses after school.

Through the CBO, Mr. Obingi has worked with Kisumu and Homa Bay county Governments to champion for the youth agenda.

Additionally, he has worked with Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Program (KYEOP) through NITA (National Industrial Training Authority) to impart skills onto the youths, coming up with realization that it is not easy for youth to make it on their own.

Mr. Obingi continues to empower youth with key information on sexual health rights and rights of the adolescents in the community.

As far as peace is concerned, he has effectively used his position as Nyanza Orange Democtratic Movement (ODM) youth coordinator to discuss issues of peace and sustainability in the region.
