High court has today delivered good news to hundred of workers at Kenya Medical Supplies Authority who were at risk of losing their job at the agency. The Employment and Labour Relation court has stop sacking of KEMSA Staff and replacing them with KDF and NYS personnel.
According to the court KEMSA Staff should continue with their work until hearing of an application by Kenya Medical Practitioner and Dentists Union (KMPDU) on November 16, 2021.
"The Employment and Labour Relations court has stopped KEMSA from sacking its workers and replacing them with KDF and NYS personnel pending hearing of an application by KMPDU on Nov. 16," read the report.
This is a huge relief to hundred of Kemsa employees who were facing blink future following the move by the Kenya Defence Forces to take over amid restructuring of the troubled Kemsa. This comes at a time leaders have opposed the move to militarize Kemsa.
