Earlier today casual worker from Elwak water and sewerage company (ELWASCO) one of the water supplier company under ministry of water, the employees of the said company demonstrated over three months unpaid salary.
Two months ago junior employees from Elwak municipality demonstrated over the same challenge and later on their issues resolved by the Governor.
Casual workers has the right to receive his or her monthly wages after every thirty days.
The innocent laborers said during their employment, the employer told them to produce copy NHIF, NSSF and Kra pin.
Ironically, the couch government had never credited any single cents to their employees NHIF and NSSF account.
The main difference between a casual employee and a permanent employee is that a casual employee only goes to work when their employer asks them to and they agree to. For example, you may be employed on an on-call basis, providing cover when illness or unexpected absenteeism requires extra personnel.
