Details of the Kenya-UK nurses’ deal have been divulged by the labor CS Simon Chelugui including the hefty pay which will see graduate nurses pocket Ksh. 460,000 while their diploma counterparts Ksh. 340,000 per month according to a Facebook post by the page ‘All Kenya Nurses’.
The summary of the deal is as follows:
“Selected number of nurses who are eligible in the list of those who applied has been concluded to 2600 in number,” the post read.
There are two more steps remaining in the process including computer and English proficiency with the first group set to leave Kenya by October 20, 2021. “All process needed will be catered for by the government where recoveries from their salaries will start immediately,” the post read.
“Accommodation has been made for nurses for free for the first three months,” the post read. Special arrangements are also in place for family members who wish to visit their loved ones in UK.
