1. BREAK IT DOWN
Subconsciously, you find the remedial work too overwhelming. For ex. Writing, it's an enormous project and can be overwhelming. However, when I break it down into phases such as:
-Deciding a topic
The task becomings manageable.
2. CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT
Different environments have different impact on our productivity. Look, does your work space make you want to do the hard graft? No. There's a BIG problem
-Remove all digital distractions
-Listen to lyric-less music
-Pin up some inspiration
3. TIMELINE & DEADLINES
Small tasked deadlines = Small wins
If you don’t finish this by today, it’s going to jeopardize everything else you have planned after that. This way it creates the urgency to act. Make it a call to action that you must accomplish by a specified date.
4. REDUCE THE PIT STOPS
Do you make it too easy for yourself?
-Disable the automatic notification
-Close unnecessary bookmarks
-Don't check social media
We've all fallen down those wormholes, where "I'll just quick read X and them an hour later Y happens." Cut it out early.
5. CUT DOWN DECISION MAKING
Every decision we make has an energy consequence. If you wake up in the morning, and you need to ask yourself, “What do I need to do today?”...you’re about to procrastinate today. The night before, make a 'done list'. Save yourself wasted time.
6. REDEFINE YOUR GOALS
If you have been procrastinating for an extended period of time, it might reflect a misalignment between what you want and what you are currently doing. Remember we outgrow goals as we learn. Trends change & so should your vision.
7. PAY YOURSELF FIRST
Some people say that rewards aren’t good motivation. Don’t believe them.
-Sales people prospect for commission
-Marketers outreach for subscribers
Basically, we’ll put up with quite a bit of crap, as long as we get our treat.
8. LEVERAGE YOUR CIRCLE
Imagine speaking to Jobs or Musk or Einstein for 10 mins, I guarantee you will be inspired to take serious action to get your goals. Find the next best thing in life. Use the advanced search tool "hustle" GO.
