NHIF disowned the advertisement, which featured openings in the departments of Benefits and Quality Assurance, in a message dated Monday, January 16.
The insurance fund made it clear that it consistently posts job openings on the official NHIF website as well as in major media.
The National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) issued a statement that, in part, said that "some unscrupulous persons are enticing job searchers to apply for NHIF jobs through a recruitment organization circulating bogus adverts online."
The statement went on to say, "The fund wishes to inform the public that the distributed job postings for Benefits and Quality Assurance Officers are fraudulent.
In addition, NHIF warned Kenyans that it would not be held responsible for any losses experienced as a result of the fraudulent job ads.
The insurance fund stated that "NHIF bears no responsibility for any personal loss originating from such bogus employment offers or connected activities."
The public alert coincided with an increase in online fraudulent job postings that prey on gullible Kenyans.
