Kenya joined the world in celebrating Labour Day. This is a day kept aside for all workers worldwide. The Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection Mr. Simon Chelugai has defended the Government when it comes to matters to do with workers
This is in matters to do with the welfare of workers, their rights as well as improving their working environments. CS Chelugai has also mentioned that in the East African region, Kenya is number 1 when it comes to matter to job creation and job protection.
This is despite the deadly Coronavirus pandemic effects that made my Kenyans to loose their jobs as many employers seeked closing down whereas others reduced the pay of the workers whereas others slashed down the number of workers.
“If we compare ourselves to the region and even internationally Kenya has done better than most of those other countries. We would have suffered more but because of the measures we took we have been able to manag” Simon Chelugui has indicated
