The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority board of directors has today appointed Mr. Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria as the next director general, Kiptoo replaces Hon. Pavel Oimeke who resigned from the authority to join politics, Oimeke would later be elected as the Bonchari member of parliament on the Orange Democratic Movement party.
According to the press release by EPRA, the board conducted a competitive recruitment process in which Mr. Kiptoo emerged top.
Until his appointment as the director general, Kiptoo was legal advisor at the ministry of energy and state Department of petroleum and the chairman of the government's first oil committee.
He has a vast experience in energy and petroleum industry with a bias in policy formulation, regulation, and project and structured finance.
Mr. Kiptoo will serve for three year from 1st July 2021, the position is however renewable once. He had been serving in the position in acting capacity when Oimeke resigned.
