Unemployment is a major challenge that affects youth across all counties in Kenya. The statistics shows that; approximately 1 million young Kenyans enters into the labour market every year; but only few are hired into the job markets. Although educational attainment appears to have a strong influence on an individual’s labour market activity, the statistics indicate that many graduate are still lacking jobs in the market; even after achieving high qualifications and experience through education.
Immediately after graduation, no one ever tells you what to expect after clearing school. Your imagination therefore is that you will come across a job advert, you will apply for the job, go for an interview and get the job. This is not the real reality because job-hunting turns out to be the most frustrating part of one’s life. Mainly because vacancies do not come up often and when they do, there are hundreds of other graduates seeking the same position. In this case, you all send your applications but the major shock is that, only one out of hundreds secure the position and others left out jobless.
Currently, a Bcom graduate who wrote an advert and post in the social media, while seeking for employment went out to viral.
In his post, the young man who never disclosed his identity is saying that; he holds a degree certificate in bachelor of commerce, accounts option. He also went on saying that he has CPA up to section (iv).
Upon seeing the above post, netizens in his Facebook fans page reacts differently. Majority are seen praying and wishing him best of luck, as shown in the screenshot below.
