Roselyn Akombe, a former IEBC commissioner, has been appointed the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs' Chief of Peacebuilding Strategy and Partnerships (UNDPPA).
Akombe expressed her gratitude for the new position while announcing the good news on her social media accounts.
Part of Akombe's message said, "Grateful for the nomination to serve as Chief of Peacebuilding Strategy and Partnerships at @UNDPPA."
Akombe revealed in her post that her workplace is in New York City.
"I adore this stunning view of New York City from my office, even when it's overcast and chilly outside. I'm always thankful for God's blessings, she said.
Akombe previously spent two years working for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Africa.
She expressed her gratitude to the Organization on Wednesday for giving her the chance to serve alongside them.
"2 amazing years with @UNDPAfrica! I appreciate you allowing my A team and I to rethink governance and peacebuilding in #Afrika by opening your doors to us. Thank you for the chance to serve, @ahunnaeziakonwa @asakookai @HaoliangXu. I'm ready to tackle @UNDPPA New York again! "She spoke.
Akombe just made his way back to Kenya after nearly six years overseas.
Akombe tweeted, "No place like home! #Kenya."
In 2017, she left the country for New York, USA, a week before the scheduled October 26 rerun of the presidential elections.
