9 Ways To Become A Good Speaker

Speakers are those who speak in front of an audience and use the art of speech to persuade a group of people. The speech usually has one or more predetermined objectives and attempts to elicit some sort of reaction from the audience. These effects can include motivating, informing, influencing the audience's point of view, piqueing their attention, presenting an issue, sending a warning message, and so on.

The speaker's purpose is to draw the audience's attention and pique their interest in order to more effectively communicate their message. It is important to remember that the speaker can be an individual or a representative of a speaking agency.

What qualities should a good public speaker possess?

1.- Get ready

He should be an expert on the topic he will discuss, constructing his arguments appropriately and being prepared to answer any specialist questions that may be asked. The speaker's understanding of the issue is what permits the speech to flow smoothly, without pause at any point, and without instilling audience distrust owing to a lack of information. It's also critical to be well-prepared for any event, which entails being familiar with the event room or venue as well as all of the technologies that will be used.

2.- A strong presence

He should project a positive image, dress appropriately, and consider the audience he is speaking to. A good presence also includes a decent posture, with shoulders slightly back and a strong sense of security and resolve. It must also travel through many segments of the public, energizing the debate and demonstrating enormous excitement.

3.- Trustworthiness

If someone receives a question that he is unable to answer due to a lack of expertise, he should accept his limitations rather than try to fool the audience with deceptive responses. One of the many mistakes that might be committed is attempting to answer every question.

4.- Exercising

It is not enough to simply know a subject well enough to give a speech; the speaker must rehearse privately to find the best manner to present the speech's ideas.

5.- Rhythm To hold the audience's attention, a good speech must be dynamic and incorporate visual or digital resources. When speaking and pointing out the different stages of the speech, pauses should be done correctly.

6.Vocabulary

The vocabulary, like the presentation, must constantly be tailored to the audience it is addressing. For example, you should never use words that the general public may not know or comprehend, and if you must, the term must always be stated beforehand and clearly.

7.Argumentation

You should be in charge of adding the reasoning so that you can properly defend yourself against any critiques or concerns that may arise. The speech should be solid in its presentation of your point of view, but it is equally critical that you listen to your audience's opinions and viewpoints.

8.- Make eye and ear contact.

Visual contact with some members of the audience should be created in order to boost their integration and attention to your speech. In your speech, you must also appeal to the audience in the second person singular.

9.- Hand gestures

Gestures are extremely significant, and they should be used to accentuate verbal messages, improve public empathy, and preserve appropriate speech dynamics.
