Gerald Gikonyo Kanyuira was the first man to own a car in Kenya .
Initially, he was employed and was earning a salary of Ksh 4 .
During those days Ksh 4 was such a lot of money. Out of this he managed to save up to Ksh 300 which he used to purchase the car .The man must have saved for the past 6 years in order to reach the target . A clear indication that he was a highly determined hard working man .
He started working at Mathari catholic coffee plantation as a casual laborer before he got a new working place where he saved and bought goats which supplemented his income.
Later he got absorbed by Kenya Co-operative union with a salary of Ksh 20 . An improvement from the previous Ksh 4 .
Gerald was married to four wives before three of them passed on . He's now a father of twenty-three children .
