BREAKING; Speculation Rife as KWS Director General, Brig( Rtd) John Waweru Sent on Compulsory Leave

The latest news being reported is that Kenya Wildlife Service Director- General Brig (Rtd) John Waweru has Ben sent on a compulsory leave with Wildlife Secretary Erastus replacing him in acting capacity. The latest incident has shocked Kenyans with many wondering why the KWS Boss has been sent on a compulsory leave.

The KWS Director- General Brig (Rtd) John Waweru was appointed to his position on March 13, 2019. He was appointed by Former President, Uhuru Kenyatta a move which caused uproar from Members of Parliament since it was done in the middle of hiring by the Kenya Wildlife Service Board.

"KWS DIRECTOR-General Brig (Rtd) John Waweru sent on compulsory leave; Wildlife Secretary Erastus Kanga replaces him in acting capacity."

Brig (Rtd) John Waweru replaced Kitili Mbathi who resigned in July 2017 after serving for less than two years. Mr. Kitili Mbathi left in a hurry after allegedly falling out with the then Chair of KWS Board, Mr. Richard Leakey.

Brig (Rtd) John Waweru at one time hit the headlines after Standard Media announced that he landed at their Headquarters for an interview using a Chopper funded by tax payers money. The news caused uproar from Kenyans with maybe wondering why he couldn't just use a vehicle from Langata road to Mombasa road which is less than 20km for a TV interview.
