Elvis Amadady, a prisoner at Kamiti Medium prison and a former aeronautical engineer has narrated how he ended up in jail just months after he got a well paying job.
Speaking in an interview with Inooro TV's Njeraini Citu show host Simon Kibe, Elvis revealed that he met a girl on Facebook not knowing she was underage. She lied to him that she was a student at Mombasa polytechnic.
He fell in love and after some time, he took his annual leave and flew to Kenya from Ethiopia where he was working and getting paid 90,000 Kenyan shillings per month.
He intended to spend a month with the lady at an Airbnb so that they could enjoy time together and get to know each other better.
22 days into the stay, they were ambushed by the girl's father who was a KDF officer. He was accompanied by several police officers. The angry father said that Elvis had destroyed the life of his daughter who was a student at Gilgil Girls' High School.
Elvis was shocked since the girl had told him she was a 20 year old college student. He never suspected anything since she looked mature.
He ended up being jailed for 15 years. He has been in jail since 2014 and hopes that the family of the girl can forgive him and withdraw the case.
