The pictures of a jobless man went viral on social media today on 1st May 2021. This is according to a post by Tuko news on the official Facebook page.
The man identified as Simon Munyao decided to make a placard and advertise himself on Facebook having been jobless for months. He was working as an assistant accountant at the University of Nairobi before he lost his job after the outbreak of the Coronavirus in the country.
He has a qualification in accounting with experience in the same field. Similarly, he has studied a professional course in accounting commonly known as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) upto section four.
When reached by the members of the media, the man says that he has been doing menial jobs so as to cater for his needs.
This is not an isolated case of joblessness in the country as several others have university qualifications but are yet to get a meaningful job that can sustain their lives.
