These Are Currently the Richest Women in Kenya

Political affiliations and dynasties aside, this list entails five Kenyan women who have somehow defied tough economic times to emerge on top and have invested or rather own a good number of profitable entities/ conglemorates.

1. Tabitha Karanja

Well known for her brewery company in which she is the founder and current CEO. Tabitha Karanja is an award-winning entrepreneur, with her company producing billions of turnouts every year. Tabitha is undoubtfully one of the top five richest women in Kenya who isn’t related to any popular political figure.

2. Njeri Rionge

Njeri Rionge is one of the leading pioneer investors in the Information and Communication Technology industry in Africa. She is currently the founder and group CEO of Wananchi Online, Wananchi Group Holdings, Insite Limited and many more entities that raise billions of shillings per year.

3. Leah Wanjiku Muguku

Leah Wanjiku is related to the late business magnate Nelson Muguku. She at some point ranked second on the list of highly trading women on the Nairobi Stock exchange market. At that time, she was selling at approximately Sh300 million.

4. Dr. Esther Muchemi

Dr. Esther is one of the pioneer investors in m-pesa money transfer market. Esther is the founder and group C.E.O of Samchi Group of Companies, a conglomerate that constitute of Teecomminication, microfinance, real estate, hospitality and media. 

5. Jane Wanjiru Michuki

Jane Wanjiru is the managing partner at Kimani & Michuki advocates. She is businesswoman and a lawyer. She is one of the most notable female investors at the Nairobi stock exchange market with over 1.5 Billion Shares.
