
On Friday the United Nations secretary general Mr Antonio Guterres appointed safaricom's Head of sustainable business and social impact Miss Sanda Ojiambo as new executive director of the world's largest organization's corporate sustainability initiative, the UN Global Impact.

The Kenyan business leader is set to take over the reins of power from the outgoing executive director Lise Kingo on the 17th of June this year. The appointment came only a few minutes after the acting director General of health, Dr Patrick Amoth was elected as vice president of the world health organization, WHO, executive board.

Miss Sanda Ojiambo comes in at a time when the world businesses need to absorb the impact and recover from the corona virus disease pandemic. Ambassador Amina congratulated Ms Sanda noting her wealth of experience and expertise would be very helpful and went ahead to Laud the world body's boss reaffirmed belief in the empowerment of women in leadership.
