
Safaricom has been left with a gap to fill after their Head of Sustainable Business and Social Impact is expected to leave. Ms Sanda Ojiambo has served Safaricom since 2010. She was also the head of Safaricom and Mpesa foundations from 2008 to 2010.
The United Nations secretary general Antonio Guterress announced the appointment of Sanda Ojiambo as the director of the United Nations Global Impact.

Sanda Ojiambo will succeed Linse Kingo of Denmark who has been appreciated by the secretary general for her dedicated tabd strategic leadership. Sanda Ojiambo will be the second woman serving in the position she has been appointed.
Ms Ojiambo with a 20 years experience will resume her role on 17 June 2020 as she is expected to lead the United Nations global Compact to the next phase.
Ms Ojiambo holds a masters of arts in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota in USA. She also has a Bachelor of arts in Economics and International Development from McGill University in Canada.
