Napoli VS Verona - Betting Preview
Gennaro Gattuso is widely expected to walk away from this summer, regardless of the result, so the mood may well be mixed at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis warned their players: ‘It’s not over,’ after a 2-0 win against Fiorentina. Gennaro Gattuso’s side beat the Tuscans 2-0 at the Artemio Franchi and leapfrogged Juventus in fourth place.
The Azzurri are one point clear of the Bianconeri with one game remaining. Juventus will play away at Bologna in the last game of the season, while Napoli faces Hellas Verona at the Stadio Maradona. Napoli’s press silence continues and President Aurelio De Laurentiis was the only one to comment on the Franchi clash.
Napoli got the victory they need to stay in the top four, as Lorenzo Insigne hits the woodwork twice, has a penalty saved, and scored on the rebound, before a deflected Piotr Zielinski strike.
The Partenopei knew only a win would keep them ahead of Juventus going into the final round of the season. It took a while to break the Viola down, as Insigne cracked a free-kick against the crossbar, and even saw his spot-kick parried by Pietro Terracciano, but turned in the rebound.
Insigne thumped the upright too before Zielinski was fortunate to see his wayward shot deflected in by Lorenzo Venuti.
