USA VS MEXICO.

The 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup has thrown up the final that many people expected and there should be little between the USA and Mexico when the sides square off in Las Vegas in the early hours of Monday morning.

That was certainly the case in the 2019 showpiece which the Mexicans edged 1-0, and we’re unlikely to see many goals here at the Allegiant Stadium with two defensively sound and evenly matched nations scrapping it out for continental glory.

The USA have been solid if unspectacular en route to their 13th Gold Cup Final, winning all five of their games so far and securing victory via a 1-0 score-line on four occasions including their semi-final success over invitees Qatar.

Gregg Berhalter’s charges will probably have to go up a gear if they’re to overcome Mexico and avenge their aforementioned disappointment in the 2019 renewal, although El Tri haven’t exactly performed consistently throughout the tournament.

The Mexicans also boast four clean sheets from five, although their group stage stalemate against Trinidad & Tobago will encourage the USA, as will their underwhelming 2-1 triumph over a weak Canada outfit in the last four.

Overall, the sides’ strong defensive showings in this year’s tournament point towards under 2.5 goals in what should be a closely fought affair and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this one go the distance. With that thought in mind, we’re also tipping up a 0-0 draw at the ninety minute mark, which will see the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup decided via extra time or a shoot-out.

ARSENAL VS CHELSEA.

The two teams meet today in the league as they seek to sharpen their skills ahead of the 2021/2022 season. The hosts will be looking to improve from their 6th position last season as Chelsea finished fourth.I see an entertaining match with both teams to score.
