Morocco have moved top of group F after an emphatic win over Belgium today. This is a win that nobody saw coming as all the odds had favoured Belgium. The Belgian side started on the right footing in the group by recording their first win against Canada. This was however a hard fought win since it is Canada who actually played better.
In today's match however, despite having the majority of the set pieces, it is Morocco who would have the last laugh. Hakim Ziyech saw his goal disallowed in the first half only for them to score in the second half. Despite efforts from Belgium to salvage a point, this eas not meant to be today as Morocco scored a second in added time to see them off with all three points.
Morocco are now top of group F with four points. They drew their first and won the second. They are in a pile position to qualify if they win or draw against Canada. Can they be the saviour for Africa to the next round? We wait to see.
