STURM GRAZ VS NS MURA.
It was a flurry of emotions for Slovenian giants Mura last weekend as they opened the scoring very early in the third minute but conceded three goals in the next 60 minutes to end up with a loose rope in the Europa League Qualification. Playing at home, Austrian side Sturm Graz has a clear pathway to victory – even a goalless draw would see them through on Thursday night. But as the reputation goes with the Bundesliga giants, they will surely see this as an opportunity to get some more goals for improving the aggregate.
A 2-2 draw with Austria Wien on the weekend meant Sturm Graz is on a 6-game unbeaten run. Though none of these games has seen a clean sheet, the Austrians have managed to chase games through and at least get the point in all of them. But the clean sheet scenario puts Mura in a good position to at least get one goal in the process to at least try for a miracle comeback.
5 of Mura’s last 6 games have ended in under 2.5 goals being scored, with them being the better side in most of them. The first leg’s 3-1 victory was the only exception where the Prva Liga side got totally dominated and beaten. They have also scored first in most of their recent games, which is an added advantage because opening the scoring in this game could put the Austrians under some pressure.
Nevertheless, from an unbiased point of view, this game will end in a narrow win or a small margin draw as Sturm Graz just has to defend well, and Mura are not equipped with scoring 2 or more goals away from home for sure. So, our best bets are Under 2.5 goals being scored and a Sturm Graz Double Chance (1X). The scoreline prediction is a 2-0 win for the home side.
