Yes there is indeed a new millionaire in town. The man by the name Maurice Vifija Muliango yesterday entered the list of Kenyan millionaires as he won the SportPesa mid-week jackpot worth Kshs 21,466,442.
Maurice is resident of Jericho, Nairobi County and currently works as an accountant. He is said to be 52 years of age, married with 3 lovely kids and a guardian to his brother's daughter. He worn the mid-week jackpot after placing one bet with Kshs 99 only, call it good luck.
Many people congratulated him after SportPesa posted his wining on Facebook although some of them had mixed reactions on why his profile had to be shared. Apparently, according to the company's terms and conditions, anybody who places a bet on either the mid-week jackpot or mega jackpot should accept his/her details shared to the members of the public.
It's still not clear how much tax he was deducted but in line with the set 20% tax on all winnings in betting, all thanks to CS Dr. Fred Matiangi, he is expected to lose a whooping Kshs 4,293,288. After the deduction he will only pocket Kshs 17,173,154 which is still a good amount for the almost retiring 52 year old man.
Congrats Maurice, invest wisely.
