The following is an analysis of seven matches that will be played on Sunday, the 14th of February.
Red-hot Monaco have won their first seven Ligue 1 games of 2021. Impressively, Monaco have scored an average of 3.14 goals per fixture during that run- including a 5-2 win in the reverse fixture - as they look to break into the division's top three.
My prediction: Monaco will win
17:00 West Brom vs Manchester United
Still in course for a top-four finish, but potentially fatigued after a 1-0 extra time win in mid-week FA cup action, Man U are clear favourites here. West Bromwich Albion find a team they have lost to atleast once in every season of EPL participation except for 2014/15.
My prediction: Manchester United will win
19:00 Lille vs Brest
Lille's best 24-game start to a Ligue 1 season of the last decade has put them within reach of their first title since 2011/12. The hosts began the round with more L1 opening goals to their name (18) than any other side.
My prediction: Lille will win
20:00 Wolfsburg vs B. Mönchengladbach
A club record of four straight Bundesliga shutouts, has propelled Wolfsburg into contention for a Champions League place. On the other hand, a surprise home loss last match to Cologne saw Gladbach drop out of European places, it did mark their 16th Bundesliga game to see both sides score.
My prediction: Both teams will score
22:00 Everton vs Fulham
Everton are becoming one of the biggest entertainers, with each of their previous two competitive matches producing over match 5.5 goals. The Toffees had to come from behind to draw in both of those matches.
My prediction: over 1.5 goals
22:00 Vasco vs Internacional
Internacional understand only a win here will extend their lead at the top of Brazil Serie A. They however face a Vasco side that is fighting relegation. This should be a good clash, 19 year old forward Yuri Alberto will be expected to be at his best for Internacional.
My prediction: a total of over 0.5 goals
22:45 Inter vs Lazio
Internazionale's return of three wins 'to -nil' in four Serie A matches has seen them keep pace with fellow title contenders. They are the division's best attacking side. Lazio's run of six competitive Serie A wins has catapulted them into a battle for UEFA Ch ampions League qualification, netting the opener five times.
My prediction: Over 2.5 goals
I hope this becomes your Happy Valentine's Day.
