In attempts to prevent more infections in the country, Homabay county has cancelled all market days to reduce public gatherings which may result to quick spread of the deadly disease. Police have been Manning market places to ensure that this directive is achieved.

This is a major blow to businessesmen in the county and may render them poor as most of them live from hand to mouth. Their perishable commodities may go stale thus incuring huge losses.

Farmers, who are the producers of most commodities sold in the markets also affected as they lack places to sell there produce
