Yesterday three people died on the spot after a matatu belonging to Egesa Company collided with a car along Bomet-Sotik road. Around nine people got injured and they were rushed to Tenwek Hospital for treatment.
Bomet Central Sub-county police commander Musa Omari confirmed the accident and indicated that the accident occurred at around 3pm. He revealed that the Matatu driver was trying to avoid hitting a pothole when they crush occurred. He went ahead and indicated that the Matatu collided head on with the car. This resulted to the bursting of the tyres of the Matatu. It then veered off the highway and rolled down into a ditch.
The Matatu was traveling from Kisii heading to Nairobi. The car was traveling to Kaplong when the accident occurred. The bodies of the victims of the accident crash were moved to Longisa County Referral Hospital.
