Road Accident

Subaru Driver Narrowly Escapes Death after a Gigantic Pipe Falls off A Trailer (PHOTOS)

The unfortunate accident took place along Mutarakwa-Mahi Mahiu Road. The vehicle carrying the pipes was reportedly headed for Uganda.

A Subaru Forester SF5 driver was trying to overtake when a huge pipe slid over and fell on the car reducing it to a piece of garbage.

Luckily, the driver escaped unhurt and it looked like a miracle. There is no one that can be blamed in an accident like that. As much as one is required to keep a 70-metre distance behind another motorist, sometimes one needs to overtake if the road is clear.

It was just a bad coincidence that the pipe fell off just as the small vehicle was overtaking as they were both headed in the same direction.

God was indeed with the driver. He has to take some blame though for using the route that is supposed to be used by trailers and other heavy vehicles.

But small vehicles still insist on using it especially when they are in a hurry.  Nairobi-Limuru-Naivasha route is the one that he should have used to avoid such an occurrence.

Have a look at the photos below taken at the scene of the accident;

Here are some of the reactions from netizens when the photos were shared on Facebook.

Albert Maina said, “There is real God. The driver of this vehicle should thank God for his miraculous rescue.”

Munyoki Mwendwa remarked, “This is due to careless driving on small car and as well poor pipe securing....i apportion blame 30 percent lorry and 70 percent small car....my verdict as a Safety Engineer and OHSMS 45000 Auditor at large.
