One little child aged 3 years old is the only casualty reported from the 5-storey building that collapsed last night. The owner of the building says that he had noticed the faults in the walls and had started evacuation of tenants as he approached the necessary construction experts to do repairs and ensure safety.
This is why there were close to no persons in the building when this tragedy occurred burying the little 3 year old child. It has since been established that a lot of the tenants had moved out of the apartment several days back and that that is want reduced the number of fatalities or else we would be talking about a different case now.
Kericho County in a very long time has never reported cases of such tragedies where buildings collapse and burry people in them and this raises eyebrows whether somebody somewhere has started sleeping on his job in the National Construction Authority.
Fortunately emergency response team arrived at the scene faster than usual and helped to offer service to those who had been injured when the building collapsed. Every single who was involved was saved and thus there was only one unfortunate death.
