Three Bodies Left Dead In A Fatal Accident

An Egesa matatu which was travelling to Nairobi from Kisii and a private car which was heading to Kaplong are involved in an accident at Bomet-Sotik highway in Bomet county near Kericho. The accident which occured at around 3pm, left three dead bodies at the spot. Other nine passengers who were involved in the accident were left with injuries and were taken to Tenwek Hospital for further treatment.

The Bomet Central Sub-County Police Commander, Musa Omari confirmed the incident and reported that the driver of the matatu which had nine passengers was nowhere to be found after the accident had happened.

"The matatu had nine passengers and the driver disappeared from the scene immediately after the accident occurred," said Mr Omari.

The witnesses who were around during the incident occurence said that the matatu driver caused the fatal accident as he was trying to miss a pothole and came head-to-head collision with a car. After the collision, the matatu's tyre busted and made it to loose control off the road and landed in a ditch after making several rolls.

As the vehicle rolled, the passengers who were on board were thrown off their seats which brought up their injuries and destruction of their properties.

The three dead bodies were taken to morgue at Longisa County Referral Hospital mortuary.
