Road Accident

Beautiful Family Photos of the KPA Official James Oyugi who was Buried Indecently

Yesterday, a scathing video of a Kenya Port Authority (KPA) Official being buried in an undignified manner and against the Luo culture went viral on social media. Did you watch the video? I guess a number of you watched it. Honestly, I cried after watching it.

The pain of losing someone and being denied to burry him or her in a special manner is awfully unbearable. He was not in a casket. The family members were told to keep distance from the grave. They were not even allowed to see the body. Indeed, the video was really painfully.

Kenyans on Facebook and Twitter were touched and angered by the video and got infuriated.

A section of leaders have condemned the way he was buried. They have requested the government to allow bereaved families burry their Covid-19 dead bodies in a decent manner because the dead have exclusive rights. They need a decent burial.

Reports had it that he died after involving in a road accident. However, he tested positive for Coronavirus. It is not lucid whether he died as result of an accident or the virus. It is still not clear. Although, I can say he died as result of an accident. He succumbed to injuries after the accident.

Top leaders including Senator James Orengo took to Twitter to express his dismay over painful video.

"COVID-19 has struck Siaya like meteor. Witnessed an undignified burial in the dead of night as surreal as mass graves in NY & military funeral convoys in Lombardy. We're confronted with unprecedented challenges. Lets not forget our humanity even in the midst of tragedy.Pole jodala," tweeted James Orengo.

The photos were shared by Francis Agilo, a village mate in Ukwala
